Pump.fun Discontinues Tokenized Agent Launch Option in Ecosystem Cleanup
Pump.fun has deprecated its Tokenized Agent launch feature effective immediately, marking the first step in eliminating underperforming platform options. Co-founder Alon Cohen framed the move as necessary to reduce trader confusion and counterproductive competition between tokens. "Coins PVPing each other because of launch modes benefits no one," Cohen stated on X, referencing the feature's unintended consequences.
The discontinued option previously enabled automated buyback and burn mechanics for on-chain agents. While existing tokens using the feature remain unaffected, new launches will proceed without this mechanism. Cohen emphasized Pump.fun maintains optimism about Tokenized Agents' potential, leaving room for future iterations—just not as a launch vehicle.
Community response has been overwhelmingly positive, with users calling the decision a rare win for platform health. The change comes amid broader efforts to streamline Pump.fun's ecosystem and improve user experience.
